The goal of the GK-12 project is to educate graduate students to be better communicators of their science, with K-12 teachers and students in particular, and with the broader community of non-scientists in general. Read about GK12 Fellow Anna Mosser's Research with Lions in Tanzania on her Blog Kate Wiedenbach, Pratt Elementary School teacher and GK-12 teacher mentor, was awarded the Entomological Foundation's President Prize for Outstanding Achievement in Primary Education. The purpose of the award is to recognize educators who integrate insects into their curriculum. Two awards are given annually - one in primary and one in secondary education. Kate is the 2007 recipient! She is invited to attend the Entomological Society's annual meeting in December (in San Diego) to receive the award. |
